Both journaling and drawing are used to allow the survivor process the event, put it into the context of life, give it meaning and move beyond the symptoms of the traumatic reaction. The last portion of the workbook contains the guided imagery script to be read by the counselor to the participant, who can use these images to gain mastery over troubling symptoms.
