Leadership Academy Seminars at Sea
Coming in summer, 2009! Cruise Holland America in Alaska during this intensive training.
Registration for workshop: $500 Room and board for seminar: around $1,000 - $1500, depending on your room choice (whether interior, with window, with balcony, etc.)
Crisis Management Institute's Leadership Academy is designed for those in a district who are charged with keeping the crisis response capacity and readiness strong and vital and those who have a passion for this work. Hours on this seminar will go toward Crisis Management Institute certification. CMI will offer cutting edge techniques, new lessons learned from recent national events and smaller unique ones, big picture awareness and new trends in the field. Each successive year will take participants further into the big picture of what keeps crisis response capacity robust and effective. Each year will have an administrator track and a counseling/mental health/nursing track. Leadership Academy is open both to districts that have had the Foundational Training (formerly the five day training) and those who have not.
Content of the 2009 training includes:
- New and emerging trends in school crisis response - Administrative and organizational issues - Lessons learned from national events and from yours - Strategies for Rapid Response Teams - Strategies for District and Regional teams - Prevention and School Climate
This trip includes glaciers, whales, and ports of call. All seminar sessions will be held while the ship is moving from one location to another. The itinerary of the ship will be uploaded on this site in May, 2008 so you'll have plenty of time to make plans. Use of unspent year-end dollars for the 2007-08 school year can be placed on deposit for this event at any time.
