De-Escalating the Angry Student/Person
This one-hour course provides a framework for understanding the usual process of the escalation of feelings and behaviors that can lead to violence, and then goes on to provide strategies for helping a student (or anyone) calm down and regain volitional control of their actions. A must for anyone who works in schools today!
Consider this. Most intruders that perpetrate school shootings are students who are often known to staff in that building. This is not to suggest that teachers are responsible for talking a student into handing over a weapon, but learning the skills to positively influence those situations is certainly not wasted effort.
This course qualifies for 2 PDUs or CEUs.
